YouTube is looking for a Product Management Director to lead its Web3 efforts. According to the job post on LinkedIn, the company is seeking a candidate with knowledge of blockchain, consensus mechanisms, NFTs, and "other Web3 technologies."

Besides crypto-related skills, the successful candidate should also have 15 years of experience within product management and a bachelor's degree in computer science. The California-based media giant noted that whoever is hired for the position, will also need "knowledge of the creator economy, YouTube, and artists and gamers."

The move follows recent statements made by YouTube Chief Product Officer Neal Mohan who said that the company is interested in new technologies "like blockchain and NFTs."

Although Mohan didn't elaborate on these initiatives, he noted that YouTube is exploring "verifiable way for fans to own unique videos, photos, art, and even experiences from their favorite creators could be a compelling prospect for creators and their audiences."
