Chinese platform for short-form video TikTok is expanding the maximum length for uploads up to 10 minutes to challenge YouTube's monopoly. A spokesperson for the company told The Verge that TikTok hopes the feature would "unleash even more creative possibilities for our creators around the world."
We’re always thinking about new ways to bring value to our community and enrich the TikTok experience. Last year, we introduced longer videos, giving our community more time to create and be entertained on TikTok.
According to TikTok's notification, the feature is available to all users with the latest version of the app. The move comes after YouTube said it will introduce new capabilities so that creators could express themselves even more with new video effects, editing tools, and more.
