Pinterest has quietly launched a streaming app for iOS and Android devices so that creators could bring more content to the platform. However, not all creators can check out the so-called Pinterest TV Studio as the app is available to select users only so far, TechCrunch first reported.

Already available on the App Store and Google Play, the app allows creators to add multiple devices for different camera angles. According to reports, Pinterest TV Studio is available in markets outside the US, including Canada, Australia, the UK and Germany.

Apparently, Pinterest is reconsidering its business model to get more exposure as the platform has been experimenting with video content since the beginning of the year. In March, the company introduced Idea Pins, a multi-page video format, available to all creators in the US, UK, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The company said back then:

This new access and capability will empower anyone with a business account to create inspiring content and better interact with their audiences, building more engaged communities directly on Pinterest.

As TikTok and other artists-focused platforms are gaining their presence in the creator economy, Pinterest has also decided to expand its Creator Fund program into cycles mode, starting in 2022 with a focus on fashion and beauty content with support from L'Oréal USA. The company said that the changes are designed to support the work of "underrepresented creators."
