Meta, Microsoft, Disney and Nike are actively hiring specialists for metaverse roles as big brands want to lead the hype for virtual reality, Business Insider reports. Only Meta has already published over 100 metaverse-focused jobs. The social media giant also plans to hire 10,000 people in Europe by 2026 for metaverse positions.
In general, the companies are looking for senior products managers, 3D environment art managers, and animators with a median salary range from $140,000 to $360,000.

For example, Microsoft is looking for a software engineer who will be delivering "new holographic experiences as part of a Microsoft project." The company added that tasks also include developing code components to power servers.
A successful candidate needs at least three years of industry experience in software engineering, as well as in shipping "highly scalable services, networked applications, or distributed systems."
To The Moon earlier reported that Microsoft is set to acquire Call of Duty, World of Warcraft, and Overwatch maker Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion. The Redmond-based company says the deal will accelerate the growth in its gaming business and will provide "building blocks for the metaverse."
